The first challenge of 2026 is COLD!
How will you show us cold? Snow-covered fields? People bundled up? Winter sports? A bowl of ice cream? It's all up to you! Be creative in your light and composition and, most of all, use this as a way to get out of your comfort zone.
Explore what cold means to you:
The crisp stillness of a frozen morning.
Icy blues and muted light in winter’s palette.
The chill of isolation or the quiet calm of a frozen landscape.
Even moments of warmth that contrast the cold — a steaming mug, bundled hands, or sunlight breaking through.
Whether you find your inspiration outdoors or indoors, aim to convey temperature, texture, and emotion through your lens. Let your photos make the viewer shiver, pause, or reflect.
Rules:
• Your photo must have been taken between the last critique meeting and this one.
• You may submit one image for critique
• This is your opportunity to express your interpretation of the theme “cold.” Be creative, but don’t stray so far that your image no longer meets the challenge.
• The deadline for submission is 5:30 pm on January 27, 2026

• By submitting photos for critique, Members are permitting GRCC to use their images for club marketing, both printed and online. Members may opt out if they wish their photos not to be available to GRCC.
