Kate Wilcox : Exploring Alternative Photography

Join us for an introduction to Alternative Photography—a term that covers a wide range of creative, often historic or non-digital photographic techniques. Many alternative methods involve contact printing, where objects, negatives, or positives are placed directly on light-sensitive paper and exposed to light to create unique prints. Kate Wilcox will guide us through an overview of several of these alternative approaches, share examples, and then take a closer look at one especially accessible and eco-friendly process: Cyanotype—also known as Sun Printing. Cyanotype is simple to learn, requires minimal equipment, and can be done without a darkroom, making it a great technique for photographers of all levels to experiment with.
